As a youth, he literally ran away from home and joined the Charles Gody Circus, going down in history as the first African-American ringmaster. He was always writing comedy. "When I was ringmaster, I was doing jokes I thought were funny," he says.  Mooney's first professional gig in comedy was with Richard Pryor, and he wrote most of the hilarious routines for Pryor's Saturday Night Live appearance. He has served as head writer for The Richard Pryor Show, as well as for FOX's In Living Color. His recent DVD releases include Analyzing White America (2004), Know Your History (2006), and It's the End of the World (2010). "I always drop history," he explains. "It's knowledge. There's always a message in my comedy and you may not get it that night - it's like time bombs. It'll get you a week later. So I'm pretty much most of the way through Don Lemon's Transparent and I am soooo inspired!  I can't tell you how much I needed to hear what Don had to say.  I never knew he went to college in NYC or overcame so many obstacles.  Don is persistent and successful...which means that i can be tooo! Don is amazing!  And I can't wait to read Paul Mooney's Memoir next!  I also want to aim to be more transparent :D lolz it seems like a great policy.

ALIVE AMAZED

I feel soooo alive this is amazing, how random things happen and people com into your life and change it for the better, give it meaning and put you on a whole 'nutha level emotionally and sometimes spiritually.  And they goin bout they business ain't don't even know the "hope ripples" lmaooo! they settin off in your life and how you just upgraded 37 levels just from them being them, effortlessly!  that's amazing!  they are amazing!  life is amazing, if you ever get the chance dance!!! don't sit it out! ^0^
